Bismarck, ND: Bismarck Airport is pleased to announce that United Airlines will be adding two daily flights between Bismarck Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) on June 7, 2018. The new service to Chicago O’Hare will compliment United’s existing service between Bismarck Airport and Denver International Airport (DEN).
“United’s announcement earlier today is excellent news for Bismarck and the surrounding region” said Bismarck Mayor Michael Seminary. “The new service will add more options for travelers from across the region and continue to define Bismarck Airport as the premier airport and hub city for central and western of North Dakota”.
United Airline’s new service to Chicago O’Hare will provide Bismarck passengers with another convenient travel option to the eastern United States. The new service to Chicago O’Hare will be flown twice a day with an ERJ-145, a comfortable 50 seat regional jet. The service will add an additional 104 new domestic connections to the central and eastern United States, complimenting existing Denver connections.
“Additional service to Chicago will give our business community something they have long been asking for and that’s more flight options.” said Brian Ritter, President of the Bismarck Mandan Development Association (BMDA) and Bismarck-Mandan Chamber of Commerce. “And more flight options come with even more business opportunities.”
The combination of the early morning and midday departures will provide passengers with the benefit of multiple daily flights options and the ability to connect with a number of departure banks at Chicago O’Hare. Leisure travelers will benefit from the new service too. The Chicago O’Hare hub has strong international connectivity and the new service will create 42 new international connections for Bismarck travelers.
Josh Askvig, Bismarck City Commissioner, said that “Bismarck and western North Dakota’s growing economy has created a demand for additional airline service. The new service United is introducing will be a benefit to travelers in Bismarck and the region. Hopefully it adds to the continued growth of passenger boardings at Bismarck Airport.”
United announced the new service to Chicago this morning as part of a larger nationwide service announcement. United’s announcement can be found at this link United Service Announcement 1-8-2018.
